Wednesday, April 18. 2007New piKey release on its waySo, it's been a while, mostly due to a nasty, hard-to-find bug that took a few weeks to fix, but a new release for piKey is now nearly ready. All that's left to do is the packaging (documentation, installer etc.), so hopefully the release will be done in the next few days.
The new release has focussed on the major issues that people had with the initial concept release. The change log includes:

Yeah! I am really excited about this coming out. Just bought a Infrared Universal Targus Keyboard for this!

Super! What about the support for two language mode due to Sony On-Screen Keyboard? I send the email to you a week ago but still don't have any response from you.

Wakaru: you know the first release was fully integrated with the XMB and web browser?
Vladare: This release doesn't yet support alternative languages for the OSK, but the next one will. In order to support alternative languages properly, it needs the ability to specify custom keymaps for the OSK. I decided that releasing now, with the current new feature set was better than adding more new code and delaying this release more than it already has been. Comment (1)
Sorry but I did not know. Although I bought the keyboard to test it It did not arrived yet (Bought from eBay USA). But hopefully it will in a few days and I will be delighted to try and test piKey.

Hey Fanjita, nice work! I'm just wondering if it's a bug or just me but every since I've upgraded to 3.30oe I've been experiencing this problem: I'm using a Targus Keyboard and it doesn't work when using VSH/GAME, but it works in the piKey sample program. It's strange and I've heard a few more people on IRC having the same problem as me.

I hope they make the palm one universal wireless keyboard work with this, because right now it does not work at all..

Fanjita, I must say that you are adding tremendous value to my psp. With keyboard support, the sky is the limit for what this little powerhouse is capable of. My Targus keyboard arrived last night and I can't wait to try it out (pretty slick device itself, that keyboard.)
I am curious if anyone has seen a notepad or word processing program that uses the Danzeff or other compatible OSK. I would love to be able to use my psp for simple text editing on the go. Once again, great work Fanjita! Comment (1)

Help. Triangle and square don't exist. Your work is excelent but please offer a plugin or fix or even a tutorial to reassign buttons. Please help.
